Ward aint never going to make some people happy. If he goes up to cruiser or heavy to fight Bellew theyll say hes ducking Gvozdyk, Usyk, Beterbiev and Stevenson. If he were to fight any one of those 3 LHWs theyd say hes ducking the other two. Its simple. Ward is now in that Floyd zone. The minute he would sign to fight Stevenson he would be a 40 year old who has fought nothing but bums. Till then Ward is ducking him. Bet on that.
If Ward beats Stevenson.

You might wanna' change your Avi before you go thereWard stalled his own career with lawsuits and diva behavior. He had a chance to negotiate a fight with Froch in the U.K. but he refused Nottingham as a location. Not that Froch wanted a rematch anyway, but at that time Ward was bickering with promoters and networks and not easy to work with. He's not a fan-friendly fighter and he thinks he is worth more than he really is. It's an ego thing.
Problem is, there aren't any great names at CW either, so even a move there with a few good wins doesn't do much for his legacy. His legacy was built upon the 168 lb, tournament. That said, I'm sure he goes down as an ATG for his entire body of work when writers and historians look back on his career, but it will be his fights at 168 that will stand out most.

Dempsey stalled his career far worse than Ward...
Was a diva....
and SCARED of Black guys....just like you.

Stevenson has that deathblow left hand, that he's found the craft to hide behind 6 or 7 different looks.
Throws it straight, as a counter offer of your shot, in combination behind a busy touch jab, in combination behind his lead hook, in combination with his body attack, firing on your way out, after using his feet to create space, etc.
All Pacquiao had was his left hand; Roach tried to incorporate other weapons in their run, but none of it seemed to stick.
If that's all you're seeing with Stevenson, you're in for a rude awakeningComment

Let 'em sleep.
Hopkins took a LOT LESS to fight Kovalev than he could have made with Stevenson.
That should have woke them up right there.

Yes, I would consider him one of the 25 best light heavyweights even though he hasn't been fighting at 175 very long. His great work at 168 has to be of value at 175 since it's only 7 pounds less. A great 168 pounder is surely a very good 175 pounder. He beat Kovalev and Kovalev is among the top 25 light heavyweights of all time in my opinion. Add to that Ward's good win over Barrera and a win over Stevenson and I think Ward makes it into the 25 best light heavyweights of all time and probably makes the top 15 light heavyweights of all time for his excellent unbeaten career at 168 and 175.Comment
