I still think GBP doesn't want Mikey coming into negotiations (forced by the WBC) with Linares, as a free agent, WBC title, undefeated at 37-0, and coming in off a win over Broner (possibly huge TV ratings too)! Basically, Mikey would be calling the shots! Canelo has already **** on the WBC, does Oscar want Linares to do the same?Comment

Lightweight world champion Jorge Linares (42-3, 27 KOs), who has beaten British opponents in three of his last four fights, likely will face another in his next bout. A source with knowledge of the plans told ESPN on Tuesday that Linares is penciled in to headline an HBO card on Sept. 23 and that he will probably face England's Luke Campbell (17-1, 14 KOs), his mandatory challenger. Campbell earned the mandatory position on April 29 on the Anthony Joshua-Wladimir Klitschko undercard with a ninth-round knockout of former titlist Darleys Perez in a title elimination bout. Linares has feasted on Brits. He has beaten Anthony Crolla in his past two fights and also knocked out Kevin Mitchell in 2015.
