Daniel Geale is correct here and I've changed my mind on this spectacle, about it hurting boxing. It will hurt and damage the sport of boxing and it's image overall. Idk how the commission agreed to sanction this nonsense.
Damn skippy. It's not Floyd's 49-0 boxing record that should be put on the line, it's his 1-0 WWE record that should be up for grabs.

We can watch the fight or choose not to watch it, but it won't hurt boxing or mma. One can enjoy it for what it is, a unique and different kind of match-up although still with boxing rules. It's not as if we are now going to see Anthony Joshua up against Jon Jones or Stipe Miocic from ufc, in a boxing fight. Of course Mayweather-McGregor could be coined as the 'money fight', and that is what it is. Even if people think Conor has a 0.1% chance of winning, they will still tune in to see the 'event'

The only way this thing doesnt end up being more than a joke than it already is if it Mayweather completely and utterly embarrasses Mcgregor. Anything outside of a stoppage is a loss for boxing.

I disagree. The fight will deliver. TBE won't be shy about pulling out all his tricks and throwing hands now that he isn't fighting an atg, world champion, or former world champion for the first time in forever. I expect he's going to toy with McGregor and give the fans a show

The only reason there is hype is cause UFC is 95% casuals and they don't know the difference between mma striking and actual boxing

Also, wasn't it just few days ago that millions of casual fans seeing Pac fight a mismatch in Jeff Horn and walk away with the perception that boxing is rigged and the judges are corrupt was supposed to hurt the sport too? Now boxing is going to put on one of the one of the largest sporting events in history a few months later. Idiots are always whining about how such and such is going to permanently hurt the sport, but boxing continues to grow and prosper.
