I began grappling and training MMA about 3 years ago after a shoulder injury ended my baseball career. (Played 2 years of college baseball). Have gone 26-3 in grappling tournaments. I still box a lot since it is a huge part of MMA, probably will continue amatuer to keep my boxing up to par. Hoping to make my professional MMA debut within the next year.

Boxing Experience: Grew up in a small town that didn't have the resources of a gym and trainers and such, so in adolescence, gathered together a group of guys and we had weekend or every other weekend "matches" with some old gloves we'd bought at yardsales and such. It means nothing; but I went 12-0 (9) in these backyard matches. Really loved it; there's nothing like the feeling you get down your arm and through your body when you connect just right. I am proud that I was never dropped and only hurt once...and the guy never knew, so good for me. I know it's no where near the real thing; but you gotta play with the cards you've been dealt. By the time a guy started coaching boxing in my hometown, I was already in my 20's and had other interest that involved not getting hit for a living.

Boxing Influence: Muhammad Ali. I was born three months before the fight of the century; Frazier-Ali I was the first World Heavyweight Championship match to happen after I entered this world....that's special to me. I grew up watching Ali on television, telling me to mind my mom and dad, eat my vegetables, brush my teeth, and stay off of dope..whatever that was I remember watching him fight and wanted to do it. I've aleady explained where those aspirations went; but I've been a fan of the sport ever since.
