Floyd clearly ducked Erislandly Lara at the end

Lara was/is still the only fighter that could possibly beat Floyd or at least give him serious problems with his speed/reach/slick Cuban style...

Floyd not fighting Lara is WORSE than Floyd not fighting Thurman ( who I think most people would agree he would beat).

lara has low output and boxes and moves. he couldnt even decisively outbox canelo because his output was too low. Hes tailor made for mayweather. You need someone with a different style to beat mayweather, not another boxer. The only boxer that could maybe outbox mayweather is tommy hearns and only because he had great speed, great jab and a huge reach.

People had been building up boogie man after boogie man that was supposedly going to beat floyd and it never happened. Lara sure as hell wasnt going to do it.

A duck is avoiding fighting the most competitive opposition.

Lara would of been one of Floyd's most competitive fights... and I think he would probably win, but I think it would be close.

          Lara isn't on Floyd's level.

He's a tricky customer for flat footed guys like Canelo but there's no way he could outbox Mayweather.

On a side not i think he should spar lara for this fight would give him some good work. About same size as conor and same reach.

He might not of beat Canelo as decisively as Floyd but he still beat him...he should still be undefeated...

I disagree about needing a boxer with a different style. Lara is very similar to Floyd in that he's a pure boxer with a lot of technical skills (they both have rich pedigrees). Lara is also very athletic and good on his feet. I think Floyd has quicker hands (but not by much)... and Lara being a southpaw with a bigger reach (which he knows how to use expertly to his advantage) would be big factors in the fight.

Floyd fought ALOT of subpar opposition when a talent like Lara was always there waiting in the wings... That, IMO, is a duck...Is Floyd taking the easier fights where he could look fantastic for maximum reward, minimum effort... Freaking... Maidana TWICE, Hatton, and Berto...c'mon...

And don't tell me Lara wouldn't have sold... it would surely outdo the numbers that the Berto fight did...

The only guy that seemed to have beaten Mayweather was Castillo and it was Floyd's 135 lbs debut. It was a straight ahead, body punching rough and tumble type of approach that gave Floyd troubles. Maidana has some good rounds also. That seems to be the only style that could give Floyd problems. Forget about outboxing him. He's too smart of a tactician to be befuddled by Lara.

Lara had his chance to get a win over an A level opponent with a mainstream name on ppv at the MGM and he ran away from greatness.

He handles business vs Canelo I guarantee you Floyd would've been next.

Whats up with Lara though? He was one of the first to fight in 2017 and still has no return date.
