Fighters always like to think in their head they are number 1, its an ego thing. Hes in hiding because its apparent that hes not the best at welter. He wont be spence and he wont beat crawford. I dont think he could even beat kell brook (assuming his eye hold up).

Its not like he did terrible against Thurman, it was a close enough fight, but he will never be the best at welter like he briefly could have atleast laid claim to be at junior welter. Garcia is repairing his ego.

I'm asking because this guy asked for a tuneup fight last year before heading towards a legit fight with Thurman.
He was loitering around doing nothing before the tuneup.
So why not schedule his next fight already so he doesn't have to do the same thing again?
It's like waiting for bad things to happen, instead of preventing it.
Then ****** fans would say, oh he's not expected to do great because he took a long layoff. Kills me. Ready made excuse.
