That was the funny part about the open letter Oscar wrote. Mayweather knows how to promote himself and his fights. Rather than bashing this fight boxing should embrace it. You haven't heard one MMA fighter say this is bad for the UFC.

I really like the FOX card. I think it will do fine actually. It's free and boxing fans will tune in..

They may not say it but its BEEN terrible for the UFC so far. UFC just had its International Fight Week card absolutely tank. That's normally one of their top 2 events for the year and it collapsed. Lowest prelim ratings since 2014 and less than 200K PPV buys.

UFC 214 Jones-Cormier on July 29th was supposed to be the biggest card of the year and it will now probably tank as well. If UFC thought this circus was going to jumpstart their momentum again they were sorely mistaken..

I didn't see any advertisements for the International Fight Week card until late last week. Unless they were saving all their promotion money for August they dropped the ball on promoting IFW.

I think Mayweather/McGregor can hurt the UFC a lot more than it can hurt boxing. But like I said when you have people like De la Hoya openly criticizing the event, it doesn't help.

Could not have said it any better.
