I Thought Floyd Needed Mexican Holidays to Sell PPV?

Based on what I saw yesterday Floyd about to do another record breaking PPV and there is no Mexican holiday in sight, not Cinco de Mayo or Mexican independence day....matter of fact there is nothing special at all about August 26, just another day, another record breaking PPV!

So where are all the people that claim he can only sale on Mexican holidays? Guess that myth has been put to rest!

Those dates helped him with the Maidana's and Ortiz's of the world. Conor brings another fan base entirely. This post is a big ass stretch.

To be honest people really hate Mayweather and they would say anything that makes them feel better when it comes to him, at the end of the day he also needs a good sparring partner to sell. But he does sell due to the hate that he generates.

Canelo-GGG was already made. Floyd had 4 options:

        1. Try to go head to head against Canelo-GGG. Last time he did that against Canelo-Cotto, he was in a better position to bump them.

        2. Wait until May 2018

        3. Fight AFTER canelo-GGG when a lot of people would have already shelled out $60 for that and might not want to pay for more PPV's for a while. Sports media will endlessly be comparing Floyd-Connor to Canelo-GGG and if it can match or live up to the hype ect ect. Especially if Canelo-GGG is an exciting fight.

        4. Fight BEFORE canelo-GGG. There is no pressure to outperform/outsell them and people have $60 more in their pockets at this time.

Number 4 was the best strategic choice. If he would have gotten through the negotiations sooner, he definitely would have taken the September date but they waited too long. Its also funny as hell watching salty Oscar get all worked up and *****ing and moaning about Floyd yet again because he is stealing his thunder and fighting weeks before Oscar's biggest fight in years.

Yet, you still don't have an answer on why he doesn't/ didn't fight on MLK Day, Fourth of July, Any weekened on Black History Month.

Face it, Conor is the reason why people are talking about this fight. What were Floyd's numbers vs. Berto? I'll wait.

****** thread. Nobody ever said that mayweather needed to fight on Mexican holidays. I always thought it was ****** anyway. He fought on Mexican independence weekend in sept 2015 and totally flopped...so it goes both ways

Causians are buying the fight - you and I know it.

You can't afford it, you're like Larry - always looking for a stream with your 2000 Acer Laptop.

No he just needs somebody popular to fight. In this case mcgregor. Had he fought thurman or spence less than half the people wouldnt give a **** about his "comeback" fight

For whatever reason I just don't think this breaks 2 mill even tho that's great I don't see em selling like ppl think maybe 1.5, I'm not into mma but the highest selling mma fight was 1.6 and it was way cheaper and maybe 400k boxing fans if that
