Being a bigger star isn't the problem UFC can no longer afford to pay McGregor. Don't you hear Floyd needling him saying you made only 3m your last fight. And McGregor for all his great insults and comebacks never disputes that one line by Floyd. He makes more money in endorsements then the peanuts he's paid by UFC. He was already complaining about the money he was paid by UFC and threatening to retire BEFORE talks of a fight with Floyd. He pushed UFC's back against the wall by threatening to make the fight with Floyd and take them to court for their contracts that's why the UFC which was dead-set against this cross fight had a change of heart and finally said let's just try and work out a deal with McGregor to get a cut of this money rather then a nasty lawsuit and the government looking into our slave contracts and potential regulations that can come out of it like Boxing has with the Ali act ect.
