About the same. Close. Look at the odds for this fight. Two guys, close in size, slight edge to Golovkin, whose killing effect on fighters is pungent stuff, and he's got an impressive amateur background to back it up, over Canelo whose hand speed is way, WAY better than Gennady's, and who can hurt people to the body very quickly -- and who is buoyant with youth. Which Golovkin definitely is not.
But the odds slightly favor Golovkin. He's pounded out some solid (not stellar) opponents, and made a lot of guys simply quit.
Canelo has been looking good-ish against some pretty sad competition lately. He would never quit against anybody, there's no question about that, but he thinks he's ready to "KO" Golovkin and then defeat Floyd in a rematch. He's been getting high on a fatted up junior welter with the brains of a rabbit and a drained down dope smoking burrito boy. He's got cute stuff in the ring, though, and looks totally sharp in every movement.
Resume-wise, the two fighters are about equally prepared for this fight.

I would go with GGG. Jacobs is not the only good fighter he has defeated. People just turn his opponents into bums after he knocks them out. I think Lemieux would beat all or almost all the guys Canelo beat. I think Jacobs is a better opponent than anybody Canelo ever defeated. Part of a good resume is not just who you fought but how you did with them. Canelo lost to Mayweather and had close points wins over Trout and Lara and needed 12 rounds to beat Cotto. I think GGG would KO Cotto Trout and Lara and he wouldn't lose to Mayweather. GGG won 23 fights in a row by KO before winning a UD over Jacobs. He wins his fights much quicker and in a more spectacular fashion than Canelo. I love Canelo and he is tied with GGG as my favorite boxer. As good as Canelo is I still expect him to get KOed by GGG. GGG is the stronger more experienced fighter with more punching power and stamina. Nobody Canelo has ever fought comes close to the combined skill, punching power, stamina and ruggedness of GGG.

This has to be trolling.
Canelo has fought almost everyone he could have including multiple world champions and beating them all bar mayweather but there is no shame in that and it boosts his resume as not being a ducker. It's only modern fans who have some ocd around keeping the 0 but traditionally it's the hallmark of someone who isn't scared to get in the ring and is a great fighter. Calzaghe being in the 0 club but RJJ having multiple career losses is my source for that.
GGG on the other hand has fought 36 bums and looked average against a mediocre Jacobs.
