He was trying to KO Gatti because he kept hearing how he would lose to him. He KO'd Ortiz because of the headbutt. He KO'd Ricky Hatton because he kept coming and made the fight closer than expected. He took his foot off the gas against Mosely, Guererro, and Cotto. Mayweather isn't KO first boxer but he will and has KO'd by choice. I'm guessing he'll play with McGregor for 12 rounds but that could change.
    Outstanding Post !

If u need further proof of this, check out his fight with Guerrero. I don't know why he does it, but he does. Maybe he doesn't want to cripple the future earning potential of his opponents by KOing them, so he decisions them instead. Just maybe he cares. Or maybe he knows if he keeps it competitive, there's a greater possibility for a lucrative rematch.
Nah I think it has more to do with his brittle hands than anything else. Every time Floyd has pushed for the KO since sometime in his 135lbs campaign going upwards he has ended up hurting his hands and almost got into trouble because of it.

He wizened up and realised that he would eventually lose a fight because he broke his hand, hence he started using pillow gloves and became more conservative in his approach.

Even in the Guerrero fight he hurt his hand while he was trying to go for a KO, he still pushed for it but not as aggressive as I imagine he wanted to.

In the Baldomir fight he ended up fighting the last three rounds with literally only his right hand because he hurt his left hand.

He hurt his hand in the Judah fight too but had to suck it up and push for the KO anyway coz of what Judah did in the first four rounds...Judah saved himself the only way he knew how (deliberate low blow).

Going further back to the Carlos Hernandez fight at 135 I think. He fought the entire second half of the fight in southpaw stance, using only his left hand, because he tried vigorously to go for the KO early on and broke his hand on the guy's head. (I believe they mentioned this fight in the article).

So no, contrary to popular belief, Floyd aint overly cautious because he is scared of getting KTFO or any of the rubbish that people say, he's like that because he can't afford to be overly aggressive coz he might hurt his hand. So he limits the opponent's activity so that he doesn't have to use high activity himself in order to win the bout, thereby protecting his hands as a result.

What a pair of clowns and a load of bollocks this really is.

You've a fighter that's NEVER been beaten as a pro at 49-0 and a lump who's NEVER had a match as a pro.....Yet the one who's never had a boxing match thinks he's Ali picking the round.

You have got to be a complete muppet to get drawn in to this ******ity and then to pay for it you've got to be clueless and brainless ......the little leprechaun shouts r.4 while you give him your money ....lol....what a joke.

Good Post as well, this also could have something to do with it. Point being, no one truly know the answer but Floyd.

But most with solid boxing acumen can see that Floyd has many times been in situations where he could of finished a guy but didn't for whatever reason.

Well it could also be said that he knew he couldnt ko them or it would be to risky so he just did what he does. I not really knocking the guy, he is great and all but not my cup of tea, but then again everyone has their favorite guys and fighting styles.
