This is why I didn't want to be quick to call Wilder a 'Duck' with the Whyte issue.
Stiverne: "I'd Never Step-Aside From Wilder Fight For Even $10 MILLION, Hearn!"

hes had an off-career. he just flat out sucks. he was losing to ray austin i mean come on. he just got a debatable decision against derric rossy. oh wait he beat chris arreola twice hes the man! this man has had poor health and has been on deaths door step his entire career yet he keeps fighting what a heroComment

wow how impressive. arreola the guy that should have lost to fred kassi and travis kaufman. are htey future wilder opponents? answer=yesComment

Those Arreola fights were the highlight of his career and he showed progress by KOing Chris in the second fight, which even Vitali Klitschko couldnt legitimately do.True, he has had a shaky career and he seems to underperform. I remember seeing an interview where he's eating deluxe choc cake, gained serious poundage few months after the Arreola KO. Always thought his nutrition was a problem but now he seems more serious with it, talking about conditioning for months already. The Wilder fight might be his last shot at a title so hopefully he'll be disciplined and perform to his peak ability and its that rare on-form, peak version of Stiverne which i think could cause Wilder problems.Comment

actually arreola ko'd molina in one round but that dont mean crap. one bum ko's the other wel done? he also ko'd seth mitchell in like 5 seconds pat on the back there. any fight against someone good he was mollywhooped and even against journeymen level guys like stirverne, kassi, and kaufmann he was pathetic. hes the definition of hype. fanangled his way to a title shot against an unworthy contender in stirverne and still lost.Comment

He is only saying this because he knows no one is going to offer him $10M to step aside. They won't even offer him $2M.Comment

Dude just threw a number out there, he's ready to negotiate. I don't see him grossing half of that stepping aside, may as well get his fat ass back in the guy and make a damn fight of it this time instead of that limp ass capitulation performance last time.Comment

You telling me you ain't disappointed Wilder is facing Whyte ?Comment

Te issue is Wilder could have gone to the UK smashed Whyte in a round and he'd be in line for Joshua instead he's gonna be tied up facing Stiverne and Ortiz for the next 12-18 months whilst Parker jumps ahead of him. The WBC are the most bendable when it comes to mandatories, they'd have just had Stiverne face Ortiz for the regular title and elevated Wilder to Diamond these guys don't **** around when it comes to big money fights.
