This kid is delusional, he hasn't fought in close to 2 years!
He is 3w-3l in his last 6 fights the next opponent lost to Robert Querrero and his best work is a two fight appearance with Soto-Karass? Big deal!

I think Cotto is a good fighter but he is no where near an elite talent and he is NOT a "great fighter"!
In the history of the sport in the divisions from 140 to 160 where he competed his name will NEVER come up!

Being a good competitor and winning a few titles is being successful in this sport but it doesn't move to elite status!

His name will come up ... but probably not for the reasons you're thinking of. I think Cotto's career will always be one of "what could've been" had he not been cheated out of his prime. The Cotto up through the first six rounds of Margarito I was an elite talent. He was crushing previously undefeated fighters, laid a beating on Judah, and made adjustments on the fly (the sign of a great talent) to outpoint Mosely when it became clear that he couldn't just bulldoze through him. His ability to rebound from crushing defeats is a rarity in and of itself. I've been disappointed with his inactivity since the Canelo fight...but to be able to end his career pretty much on his terms nearly 10 years after people thought he was done...if he's not an "elite" fighter then he is certainly an exceptional one.

We may have had this conversation before (though I could be confusing you with someone else), but a lot of all time greats close their careers close to 3-3...like Leonard and Ali. Between 140-160, I think of Cotto as the third best of his time...but his time had Floyd and Manny, two all-time greats.

Yeah... I do remember the adjustment he made on Juda's fight... A uppercut to Juda's balls.

                Great points. I agree 100

Cotto's best wins were Mosley, Margarito and Martinez.

He gave Floyd hell in their fight and as you said rebounded time and time again after defeats where it looked like he would never be the same or be able to bounce back.

Great points and I too also believe that his career may have been a little bit different if not for plaster gate.

The same Judah who put a bulls-eye on Floyd's balls the year before? Karma's a *****.

Real boxing aficionados will be watching this fight. I'll be watching it. Only an idiot will pay to watch the circus freak show. It's evident Floyd is gonna win.

I'm a boxing fan, and boxing comes first. So The Cotto fight is what I'll be watching

Thanks Antonio Margarito for battering Cotto senseless in KO loss

Thanks to the great Aztec Mexican god Antonio viva' Margarito for cement battering the brain dead stuttering Cotto senseless and hurting Cotto's career like a good Mexican should. Cotto can't remember much anyway.
