yea i dont want to bandwagon on one side or the other, but man i can't see it being a close fight. the guy would miss floyd alll night. of course he has a very legitamite punchers chance, he is defenitly able to hurt floyd. but from what i saw there, of margs skills and abilities, floyd would give him a boxing lesson.
and i dont think floyd would have to step in with his shots, hed slip one of those slow ass shots, since marg is always coming forward, land 3 or 4 punches and pivot off out of danger.... thats just how i see it happening. i've been wrong before hahaComment

if floyd legitimately takes the fight, i would give him the benefit of the doubt. as crazy as it sounds i think his oustanding footwork and lateral movement would win it for him. floyd is no doubt familiar with margarito's style, as he has faced plent of mexico's brawlers but he hasn't fought one of those fighters with a 'fighters body' like margarito. it would be a tough challenge, though.Originally posted by ferocityif floyd wants to hit margarito he'd have to step in with his shots and run! backwards as fast as he can, to not get hit by margaritos counter punchs. a huge challenge for floydComment

margaritos style is misleading, he looks like a sloppy big man at times, but you see enough of him then you start to see what he can do.
one thing i like margaritos chances is that margarito like to throw looping shots, wide looping shots. now floyd ain't a fighter to stay inclose on a fighter or fight him close. floyd likes to fight you from a distance, what better punch then to throw looping shots. especially when you know as soon as he lands a shot he is going to step right out of harms way, not expecting or seeing a margarito overhand right and bam! its all she wrote for floyd.
and if floyd dares to stand with margarito then....if floyd didn't like the body punchs castillo threw at him, i can't imagine he'd like the punch his body will receive with margarito.
if floyd ever fights margarito he'd have to be on his toes all night giving margarito a lot of angles or else its good night. worse thing floyd can do against margarito is come straight down the middle with his punchs and step straight back out, he be counnters with timed shots by margarito.
the sooner the better for floyd to challenge margarito, floyd doesn't fight as often and this is effecting his skills, his timing ain't their as it used to be, his defence is not as good as it was, he's even starting to telegraph his punchs. the sooner he fights margarito the better for floyd. the more he waits the more he has a chance to get ko'd.Comment

that's a very good point. mosley throws loopy right hands and that's another reason why i think mayweather would have problems with a conditioned athlete like mosley. then again, we could also have another lacy-calzaghe on our hands where a muscle-bound big man gets exposed against and old-school technician.Originally posted by ferocityone thing i like margaritos chances is that margarito like to throw looping shots, wide looping shots. now floyd ain't a fighter to stay inclose on a fighter or fight him close. floyd likes to fight you from a distance, what better punch then to throw looping shots. especially when you know as soon as he lands a shot he is going to step right out of harms way, not expecting or seeing a margarito overhand right and bam! its all she wrote for floyd.Comment

one huge differnce their is floyd ain't taller or as tall as margarito. any fighter will tell you having a height advantage over you opponet is an advantageOriginally posted by Aztecathat's a very good point. mosley throws loopy right hands and that's another reason why i think mayweather would have problems with a conditioned athlete like mosley. then again, we could also have another lacy-calzaghe on our hands where a muscle-bound big man gets exposed against and old-school technician.
and does floyd hit as hard as margarito? i don't think he does. where calzaghe we all knew had at least some power in his punchs.
also i think folyd is too much of a counter puncher to take the lead as calzaghe did, and margarito ain't just going to wing shots hoping to hit somthing he throws punch expect to land or to set up his other shot. either way floyd is in trouble.
and another problem with floyd waiting to take on margarito is that by the time floyd fights margarito he will have all these new challenges waiting for him in a now deep division. if floyd continues at welterweight his zero will go.Comment

what does that say about mayweather who doesn't wan't to fight him "not even for 8 million dollars" when floyd does fight him, floyd will probably be lucky to get 5 millionComment

Bull****. If your boy is so damn good, he can fight Margarito.Originally posted by PBF34He looks like **** and is embarrassingly overrated.
Tony is no top 10 p4p guy, but he damn sure isn't overrated. All that people say (and rightfully so) is that Marg deserves a shot. He was rated number one at 147 before Floyd ever got there, and none of the so-called champs gave him a shot. The reason is simple: Margarito is a genuine threat, regardless of how unskilled you think he is.
Mayorga's 'unskilled' ass threw loopy shots from odd angles to his advantage to beat Forrest twice, Andrew Lewis, and also Spinks in many people's eyes.
Straight punches are not the only way to be effective. If you want to write off Margarito and say he doesn't deserve a shot at Floyd just because he throws loopy punches...that's a crock of ****.Comment
