Was Andre Ward as unknown as Rob Brant?

I wasn't a big boxing fan at the time Ward won the Super Six. How well-known was Ward at the time? I know he had the Olympic medal and all.

I think Brant will win his first round fight of the tournament, and how that fight goes will tell a lot. It is crazy to think of him beating the likes of George Groves or Eubank, but at the same times it's like, what if he is actually on that level and he just hasn't had a chance to show it?

Ward was more well know. Obviously because of the Gold Medal, but he also had the fight with Edison Miranda before the Super 6.

Brant does have an amateur pedigree. Golden Golves champion in 2010, U.S. Amateur champion in 2009, U.S. U19 Amateur champion in 2008. All at Light Heavyweight. Started pro career at Middleweight. Is moving up to Super Middleweight for the tournament.

I'm interested in the size difference vs. Braehmer since Braehmer is moving down from light heavyweight and Brant is moving up from middleweight.

Ward was more known but stilll he wasnt that known.

At the start of the super 6 most bruvvas were hyping matrix because he looked more impressive. Ward looked solid but unspectacular.

Brant is too small. He won't win.

              He's actually not that small.

He's listed as 5'11.5, that's about George Groves' height and Braehmer's height.

I'd be extremely surprised if he won. I think they should have put Korobov in there instead.

NO! Ward was a Gold Medal Winner!

I want to see how Brant looks Round 1 at 168 first before I pick him as a Sleeper. If he wasn't moving up for this Tournament and was already established at 168 I would probably flat out pick him like I picked Ward while others was hyping Froch, Abraham and Kessler!

I like Derrick James as his Trainer, I like the Camp that Rob Brant works with which Includes Spence Jr and Jermell Charlo. 1st Round will be telling for him because I get the feeling he could build momentum and go on a run IF he looks good vs Juergen Braehmer
