No. Mikey has what seems to be a TV deal (contract or handshake is unimportant) with Showtime, and he and his brother appreciate the work that Schaefer has done in promoting fights out west (particularly in Las Vegas and SoCal).

Mikey likely keeps things the way they are (fighting big fights, promoted by whomever is best at delivering in whatever the market), but if a deal can be had, I see RGBA partnering with Ringstar, to help launch the pups under Robert (if Garcia can get his young fighters out of their deals, the package of talent there to merge with Ringstar would be special

Mikey wouldn't have to sign **** if he and his brother understand the position that their in.

Linares is a non-draw, "Turbo Terry" is fighting Verdejo (imagine the spot that they'd be in if Top Rank finally put a belt around one of the fighters that they hope carry the company), the fight is mandated by the WBC, and Oscar wants no part of Robert Easter Jr.

Linares gives up the WBC belt, keeps the WBA belt, and is basically left holding a thumb in his ass, hoping that the UK brings him out for a major fight.

Mikey has TV backing; Linares doesn't. Not too complicated

You add that jacobs isn't taking the fight for pennies, and this talk is starting to sound like oscar's talk about venues around the world bidding on the fight (when, in actuality, the only venue that oscar ever considering actually hosting the fight being t-mobile arena).
i think they are just giving jacobs a spot on their ppv card! I think haymon will find the opponent! So maybe they worked out a deal to do this fight then work in the future!

Glad the WBC will push the issue, now let's see what ODLH has to say about it!

Linares is easy work for Garcia.. I think he will edge Broner. Only way i see Garcia losing is if he cant adjust to the new weight class. Broner is big for 140 but he's not active on the offensive end which has been his downfall in his career. Should be entertaining while it lasts.

Seems even WBC is behaving like Broner is no serious fight for Garcia. They're already dangling the Linares carrot.

I don't see how that would benefit Haymon or Daniel Jacobs, especially in an environment when you could stage Jacobs-Lee from Barclays Center, move a ton of full value tickets in Brooklyn, and have the fight aired on Showtime (not a big enough fight to compel a move to CBS) or primetime on Fox (as it becomes more and more likely that the coming consolidated PBC deal will be with Fox/FS1, with SpikeTV having the option to bid on shows when they need to fill a spot left open from Bellator), while also delivering a better and more meaningful fight than what Golden Boy could currently offer.

                Just doesn't make sense
