Id still like to see him in fights with other domestic JWW's like Robbie Davis Jnr and Tyrone Nurse, who are far less talented and capable than the excellent Josh Taylor.

the kids got it all. My friends stateside on this forum may not have seen much of him as hes still at domestic level but keep on eye out for this guy.

He oozes charisma, is a showman and has the skills to back it up. Talk that as a novice he gave porter all he could handle in sparring, and ricky burns says the kid is the real deal. His trainer Tony Sims says hes never seen power like it in 20 years.

Fighting at 140 hes close to the glamour division of 147, and big fights could be around the corner. On saturday night he faces his toughest test on paper, josh taylor, and surprisingly davies goes in as underdog.

If (as i think he will) he gets taylor out the way, how far can this kid go? Could he be the next great UK champion? Once the kid gets the exposure hes gonna be a huge fan favourite as despite the trash talk he seems like a likeable guy.

Now he has it all, a KO against him in his record.

yep fair enough deserve some stick, i was on that hype train. bit gutted, was hoping he was gonna be another star for the UK as i liked his style and charisma but not to be. davies looked very sloppy against a good fighter in his first real test. Obviously he can rebound but dont think hes going to be world level based on that. taylors counter punching was fantastic though, very accurate. Fair play to them both for taking that fight that early in there careers.

Leave the slick brothers to the Americans. He was slow as dirt, jab ******, his posture was horrendous, even Andre berto had a better shoulder roll than him.

It's not the end of the world for Davies. Josh Taylor proved last night what a prospect he is. This lad can be a world champion within a couple of years and Davies can come again if he learns from this fight.

I liked Davies Potential, I STILL DO but he started acting like a Superstar before truly becoming one with the Mayweather and Gervonte Davis Stuff.

Got Humbled a little but he still has A LOT of potential but he has RAW Potential that needs to be molded by a Better Trainer!

For all his shortcomings in basic technique the biggest thing that was exposed last night was his total lack of heart. He took a jab, looked at his corner and took a knee, then after the second knock down he just looked at his corner and turned his back on Taylor. Those images will basically end any chance of a top level career.
