No benevidez or Eubanks = zero interest in the super middle tourny

According to Dan Rafael, the Eubank Jr./Abraham winner will be the last entry to the 168 lb. tournament.

I think Eubank Jr. wins that fight and then the 168 lb. tournament becomes very UK-centric with Groves, Eubank, Smith, and Cox.

Very much so... although the UK always has been strong at SMW a potential 4 of 8 is a bit much. Just a damn shame neither Haymon or Arum seemed to have any interest in putting their SMWs in this tourney. Potentially it could have been a game changer like the CW tourney promises to be, but actually it'll leave the division with as many questions as answers.

Mike Perez definitely had weight to lose judging by his body shape in his prior heavyweight fights. I'm rooting for him, dude was talented and had promise, before the Magomed fight

He looked in great shape at his last cruiserweight fight, his shape or talent have not been the problem, he's never been the same after mago's fight

Hmmm. Yeah, that makes sense I guess. Nothing against Perez - the guy is a good boxer and should be the business at Cruiserweight - he always had the weight to lose. The problem is he's essentially unproven at 200Lb so it's a bit of an iffy decision if you ask me. Glowacki at least has the credentials. Ah well - Irish Mike will make for an interesting wild card - just hope he's finally got his head straightened out. Shame though. Still say Glowacki woulda been the better choice.

Because of Eddie Hearn and the UK market which is the 2nd biggest in the world. Perez is signed with Hearn and he will fight on Sky Sports in the UK. Much bigger audience than somewhere in Eastern Europe. Plus Sky Sports offers additionally money to the fighters.

That 168 tourney doesn't look world class in general. Groves is the only one who has performed are proper world class. I wonder how they'd seed it.

Although I've read a lot about Yildrim and maybe the yank might be a dark horse.
