It clearly states between $15-17 million per fight for 3 fights. I've also seen it mentioned in other articles, etc...even recent ones. Me being a die hard Cotto fan should know. The concerts and promotional help for Cotto was seperate, an undisclosed amount.

But it's all good, no worries.
I sincerely doubt that RocNation would go into a $50m deal with Miguel Cotto Promotions for 3 fights, and then go ahead and cut another separate check with Miguel Cotto Promotions for the concert business. Just saying

To be a PPV in the U.S., Eddie Hearn has to have Bellew fight on U.S. TV and familiarize him with the U.S. audience.

Right now it's not a PPV in the U.S., it wouldn't sell good in the U.S.

In the U.K. you are looking at big PPV numbers and big gate numbers.
I'm just being real about it.
If Ward fights Adonis Stevenson and wins (in his third PPV event), and Bellew can again deal with David Haye (in, I think, his 3rd/4th fight on Box Office), Ward-Bellew is an easy PPV fight in the US.

At $65 a pop, you're likely looking at the camps splitting $10m off of the US PPV (300k-400k wouldn't be unheard of for Ward's fourth PPV), plus a good take on UK TV (Bellew drawing 600k homes could add another $5m easy) on MGM Resorts putting up a site fee (Ward's not Mayweather, but he's shown that he can move tickets as Vegas prices; between the gate and the amount of money that folks will likely spend with MGM Resorts, $5m to host the fight isn't unheard of either).

Maybe I'm underestimating the amount of money possible in the UK.

Charles Martin for sure got paid, but there's no way that his number ended up being $8m, even with the circumstances.

Halve that, and you've likely far closer, imo (promoter/Haymon/trainer/taxes/ camp expenses/lawyer/etc likely ends up eating 60% of his take, leaving him with maybe $2m; buy the house, a few cars, the ***elry, etc and, if he were smart, invest whatever's left in a property or two, and he's likely set for the rest of his life).

Only reason Cotto signed with Roc Nation was for the $$$$$

They overpaid Cotto, but at that time RNS was looking to make a big splash in boxing. They relaized this mistake later with the Kamegai fight and knew they couldn't pay Cotto what he was due. They were trying to work things out regarding the pay but Cotto was adamant and they mutually agreed to a contract release for an undisclosed sum.

If Bellew fights Haye again and if Haye is 100% healthy I don't like Bellew's chances in a rematch with Haye if that is the case.

If Bellew wants Ward and if they are going to do PPV in the US. Hearn has to bring Bellew to the US to fight on US TV fighting at Cruiserweight defending his WBC Title. He has to familiarize this guy with the U.S. audience.

If Ward fights Stevenson, that PPV should do slightly better than Ward-Kovalev, but maybe it won't. It might do about the same amount of PPV buys unless they really market and promote it well.

But both Ward and Bellew can fight sooner and make money sooner if they fight in the UK rather than the US.

For PPV in the US to be successful it has to be built up in the US. In the UK it's already built up, they would sell out in the UK and do big PPV numbers and gate numbers.

But I guess we can agree to disagree on this.

            • Ward is an absolute joke, what more can you expect when his fans are mostly on here talking about how much they love him, yet they will stream his fight for free lol!

When only one person is doing the bulk of the promotion it's not going to sell as well. Are you saying Kovalev not showing up for an interview in front of millions of people didn't hurt? Skipping interviews the week of the fight didn't hurt?

Nope, it didn't hurt. Most fights are sold 80% the week before. Golovkin didn't show up for some interviews before the Brook fight and yet it was a sold out and success.

                    • Damn, that's not good. With that being said, with the low live gate and low ppv buys, how much to Sergey really get? That sucks for him.
