At the end of the day Manny is ****** man who was taken advantage of by a smart sneaky ***. Once Manny hit a certain level of popularity he didn't need Top Rank anymore. Taking 30% of his purse to do....what? Manny could've hired his own people to book venues and middleman to negotiate his deals. Mayweather realized that he could only go so far with Top Rank. Signing a contract that capped his fights at 20 million was insane! Arum never let the market dictate Mannys salary, because he knew he had an illiterate fighter who was happy taking home 20 million for a big fight and 10 million for a Marquez fight. He let Bob Arum tell him how much a fight was worth instead of having his own people gauge the market. Mayweather left Top Rank and fought all of the guys Arum said No to. And it's sad that Manny spent his prime years fighting rematches and trilogies that nobody cares about to line the pockets of a greedy promoter. Manny is a victim of his own ******ity. I think In the end Arum has very GOOD DIRT on Manny about him using Steroids during his prime and he holds that over Manny ever time a new contract comes up. Remember when his contract expired and Floyd told Manny to stay a free agent and they could negotiate a fight for more money without Top Rank, then Manny resigned with Top Rank anyways? That's when I knew Bob had something on Arum. Manny is a captive. He could come clean and be free but then his career would be over.
