Chris Eubank Sr on Greatness vs Quitting

I think Eubank Sr is an assclown 99% of the time myself, but this is pure genius on how he breaks down the sport of boxing in an elegant way as only Eubank Sr can.

"To go looking for greatness is madness"

Starts at the 7 minute mark.

    Interesting psychology.

the saying 'you don't know how strong you are until being strong is the only option you have' comes to mind

I don't think Kell quit btw, you don't have to be sparked out cold to know it's over. His body just couldn't take anymore, Spence's punches weren't enough to knock him out, but they were enough to wear his body down to the point where he had nothing left. It's not like he got hit with a jab in round 1 and called it a night.

If you're struggling for oxygen and somebody is beating the **** out of you until you can't defend yourself anymore, it's over.

So I think the Eubanks were out of order talking all that **** about Kell, it's not even like they're in the same weight class and have an ongoing rivalry etc. This all it's stems from the amount of backlash Eubank Jr got for not fighting Golovkin, while Kell was being applauded for stepping up. That left a real sour taste in the Eubanks' mouth.

I disagree man, he could of tried to hold or use rough house tatics vs spence and he just let spence continue to level him....the last two rounds spence was dominating and he didn't do anything to disrupt that......

It's easier said than done bruh. Spence is a very physical and skilled fighter, he's very good on the inside and too strong to clinch, every time Kell tried to clinch him, he was eating uppercuts to the body. That **** takes the wind out of you.

And despite being a quality boxer, Kell hasn't got good legs, he's stationary and his defence when somebody gets too close is the clinch, he couldn't do that against Spence, hence couldn't defend himself on top of being exhausted. Anybody who isn't mobile is going to get stopped by Spence, the guy sits on EVERY punch, so you gotta use your legs non-stop to keep him off balance and take away some of that power.

Surprised by his praise for canelo very rare for him to speak that way about a fighter from the current era

ATG chin. best chin of the last 30 years alongside Mccall & Tua

People need to appreciate these fights:

The man went from Middleweight World champion to Super MW world champion to at the end of his career fighting for the cruiserweight world championship (and getting robbed)

Those two fights show he was truly great IMO, no one gave him a chance going into the fights with Thompson, (the dude who knocked out Haye) and expected him to be Stopped, not only did Eubank not get dropped or stopped...but he dropped thompson!

the guy is a straight up G in my eyes, regardless of whether he wears horse riding shoes and carries a man purse or not
