Why don't eastern europeans turn pro?

What's up with all these russian and khazakh fighters who fight their entire careers in the amateurs instead of making money in the pros?

The system might offer them better wages & aftercare than they would if they were labouring in some building site or factory somewhere.
They may not have the 'it' factor to turn pro or the job security.

A lot of countries pay their amateurs to stay amateur and represent their country. A few loses in the pros hurts your earning potential. You can lose in the amateurs but place well and still earn a living.

Turning pro you need to find an honest manager who hooks you up with a decent promoter, and that's not as simple as it sounds.
