Stephen A. Smith is better for boxing than boring Max Kellerman

I don't care if he doesn't know the difference between a straight right and a jab. Smith gets people talking about the sport. Smith is the voice of casuals. You gotta realize when Smith is taking casuals are listening. More exposure for the sport. If ESPN is in this for the long haul you'll see his knowledge increase. As of now I'm happy he's bringing casuals to the sport

He has some passion. I give him that. I do think he's better than Max.

i like stephen A and atlas

atlas is a complete bona fide legend in my eyes, i dont get all the hate....we watch so many fights man as hardcore boxing fans i prefer to have an entertaining energetic commentator who uses some metaphors to keep my brain engaged

stephen A is not too wise when it comes to boxing but by now i already know what im watching, hes just an animated character that keeps the casuals engaged

ideally we have guys like bernstein and barry jones here in uk that show the same passion in that way but we dont

He said he gave Pacquiao a two point round so he had it 117-112.

He doesn't understand that you take the point from Horn, not give it to Pacquiao, lol.

he's definitely a character though and that's always good in Boxing, it gets people watching/talking.

I give Max a pass bro. Max was the first guy to say how great Rigo was live when schooling Donaire. He was later disciplined by HBO Boxing Mgmt to stay in his lane... the whole HBO doesn't want to see Rigo after he beat Donaire. All fake agendas, which is why Loma as well doesn't sell like a Gennady followship.

Max's brother got it dirty too... also Max has stood against Racism...

Max is just a soft guy. He can't be like RJJ and be blunt or contradict what's apparent on HBOs marketing strategy. HBO loves and needs RJJ. with Max they could care less

I agree! People may not like the guy but when he talks...PEOPLE LISTEN! So YES having him talk boxing helps the sport absolutely! I think Stephen A is still learning about the sport still learning about these younger fighters he is on top of his **** he mentions Crawford, Thurman, Spence Jr, Danny Garcia and the younger fighters OFTEN so YES having someone with the following and Platform that Stephen A has talking boxing that can indeed drive up ratings and PPV Buys!

I like Max though...AWAY FROM LAMPLEY AND HBO! However, Max on HBO is a different guy he kinda suck up to his Mentor Lampley and he sides with him and try not to make him look bad! But make no mistake, Max Kellerman KNOWS HIS BOXING, his Knowledge on the sport is 100% LEGIT! I seen guys on youtube talk **** about Max but then when they interview him face to face he literally wiped his a$$ with them in debates because Max Knowledge is A1! Just because you disagree with someone doesn't mean you know more!

Lmao, they need to educate Smith on boxing so he doesn't look like a fool with what you mentioned about him giving Pacquiao a 2 point round and scoring it 117-112, Lol.

Other than stuff like that I like all the other stuff. But they need to make sure he is thorougly educated on the sport.
