I think the main difference is that if Horn had been turning his back from the fight and bending over in pain for rounds 5-9, and then Manny hurt him in the 9th, the ref would've stopped it right there.

Horn was fighting hungry the entire fight whereas Kovalev had complained for half of his fight. That's the difference between stopping a fight and giving a guy another round.

I didn't like the Weeks stoppage but Kovalev brought it on himself by complaining instead of fighting harder.

So Krusher Kovalev is now being painted as the vulnerable victim who needs our help and sympathy?

Also are you saying the Horn decision was legit? Horn was allowed to continue instead of being stopped thereby "winning" the fight, but 117-111 is some made up bull****.


To me the most telling thing about that fight that is also applicable to Pacquiao-Horn is the physicality of the fighters.

Ward was in better shape, faster, and just as strong as Kovalev if not stronger by the end of the fight. Kovalev wasn't able to bully Ward, and Ward still had gas in the tank at the end of the fight.

Ward turned Kovalev into the weaker fighter even though Kovalev's biggest strength was that he was supposed to be bigger stronger and tougher than Ward, but he wasn't.


Horn came out against Pacquiao and made it a dog fight, he fought dirty but he went all out and fought hungry. Pacquiao tried to play the finesse game and it didn't work, and then Pacquiao wasn't able to pull the trigger to finish Horn.



Horn fought tougher and was given the benefit of the doubt. Kovalev fought weaker and with less intensity and he got TKO'd.



The lesson here is fight harder and take the decision out of the ref's and the judge's hands if you want to try and control your own destiny.

I didn't see Horn bending over like a hooker from beltline body shots or voluntarily turning his back to Pacquiao. Kovalev was exhausted, seriously hurt, defenseless and looking for a way out. Weeks put him out of his misery.

No, Horn didn't sit on the ropes and do nothing back unlike the "krusher" did which is basically turning your back to your opponent. So no there are nothing alike.

Maxi, this is ******ed. Horn was throwing punches back. The ref's over concern for Horn doesn't make Weeks stoppage better or worse. Weeks definitely could've let the fight go on.
