Was that the biggest cherry pick backfire ever?

Even if you think Manny won this was supposed to be an easy showcase fight for him and it turned into a war.

I still think Garcia vs. Herrera was the biggest, because of how Danny's career and reputation has fallen off since that fight. Garcia was also in his prime.

This fight, while the decision was bad, Pacquiao fought like a 38 year old fighter. He was slow in there, even against a slow fighter like Horn. It's a bad loss but you have to take into account he's past his prime.

I didn't consider it a cherry pick or a showcase (said this before the fight... not changing it for convenience) due to manny's decline. It was bound to be competitive.

Manny is visibly past it and Horn is slightly underrated, neither guy is a runner. In a toe to toe fight youth and strength is a massive equalizer.

Would joshua have beaten a prime wlad? joe smith knocked a prime hopkins out of the ring like a sack of potatoes? no and no. same thing here.

I expect horn to step up a bit too quickly and lose though.

Asking for $20 mil for a Crawford fight and cherry picking Horn looks like a very ****** decision right now.

Yes....one of the biggest cherrypicks ever....horn is c-minus level at best and this fight went the wrong way.

He got lazy and greedy, looking for an easy pay day....didn't even look engaged or bothered, fiddling on his phone and thinking it would be a quick KO. Horn proved him wrong.

I can't think of a bigger one. Karma finally caught up to Pacquiao for carefully selecting his opponents.
