It's had a few decent boxers in the past 20 years, both north and south, guys like barry mcguigan, Dave boy McCauley, Steve Collins, Ray close, Eamonn Magee, and some other decents pros like Darren Corbett and Neil Sinclair. Now theres guys like Dunne and Duddy coming through. I also heard a boxing gym in Northern Ireland in the 1980's produced the second largest number of champions in europe.
Then you have the Irish American greats like John L. Sullivan, Jerry Quarry, Jack Dempsey, Jay Tunney, James J. Corbett, James J. Braddock, Bill Conn, Jimmy McLarlin, Gerry Cooney etc.
