Julian Williams disappoints in latest fight.

In J Rocks first fight since Charlo, I was looking for him to come out aggressive and put the 154 division back on notice. He did no such thing. He did not impress one bit.

After the first round I kept saying he's gonna put this guy away soon. And I kept saying and I kept saying.

    I'm disappointed in you, Julian.

I thought he looked good. Took his time, picked his shots well, won every single round and eventually got the stoppage. It makes no sense to go out there all reckless after you've just been knocked out. He got some nice rounds in. I still think he's a future champ at 154.

Who said be reckless? His opponent was obviously just their to survive and get a check and was barely exchanging the entire fight.

I wish he would've fought Vanes before the Charlo fight. Fighting those seasoned vets who've been at the world level get you prepared for the world level. That Trout fight helped Jermall. That was a close fight. I think Hurd is in for a surprise and I think Lubin needs a fight like that before taking the Jermell fight

He was almost sparked unconscious in his last fight, I'm sure that's in the back of his mind, psychologically it's gonna take him a few fights to recover from that. Not only that, but it's just not his style to force things, he's a very calculated, thinking fighter.

Yeah, he should've definitely fought another lower top 10 guy before Charlo, but guys weren't lining up to fight him. It's hard to get names in the ring with you when you're a high-risk-low-reward fighter, he was chasing Trout for a while, Vanes, Ishe Smith etc.

I agree that Trout will beat Hurd, I expect it to be pretty clear as well. Hurd is a good fighter but his feet are too slow. Being the smaller guy against a non-puncher like Hurd will benefit Trout hugely, he's gonna be the smaller, quicker, more experienced and ultimately the more skilled fighter.

I'm picking Lubin to beat Jermell tho. He's quite similar to your guy Spence.

He looked quite good imo, i think he isn't really a puncher and that he could have pressured a little bit more, but he had some wicked body shots yesterday and he is a fairly skilled fighter.
I couldn't stop thinking about Hearns in attendance realising that he could have killed both of them in the same night.

He needed rounds and that's just what he got.

I thought after such a brutal KO that he was just trying to get his confidence back and did very well in my opinion. I've always liked him a lot and hope he gets back to his best form.

He needed rounds against someone who was gonna test him. You could hear his trainer a minute into the screaming "He's scared of you J Rock." And that he was.

Kind of a noobish thing to say. His opponent was impossible to look good against, with the way he was fighting. I thought J-Rock was fighting smart and you could tell he learned a lesson about leaving himself open for counters.
It was the fight he needed to fight. If you were looking for his opponent to just walk into a 1-punch KO, your expectations were what disappointed you.
