Had a good conversation at the barbershop today in Cincinnati

When I'm in Cincy I go to this barbershop owned by a former fighter and current trainer. A couple of his fighters were there today and we were talking about the fight tonight. They kept saying "those Mt Auburn fighters don't like pressure". Mt Auburn is where Mike Stafford trains. He's the trainer of Broner, Herring, Nuke Warren, and Easter. They said when Coach Frank (the former fighter that owns the shop) took his fighters to Mt Auburn they would whoop on Stafford's fighters.

Sidenote: They all love "Twin" (Broner) and want to see him do good but they feel he is his own worst enemy. They say he's probably the best fighter they've every seen but he's not dedicated to the sport.

Yea stafford is talented clearly since not many guys raise multi world champions. But the style is weak, too much pot shotting

Yeah that style doesn't do well for his fighters... They need to work on power.. For some reason, I feel like they dont know how to sit down on fighters coming at them.

Herring seemed very feather fisted against Shafikov.

Easter was getting hit way too much using the roll and should've never been in a phone booth fight in the first place.

Warren got ****d against a pressure guy

From what I'm told he stole Broner from another trainer. Once he got him other fighters followed

They said he dont teach fighters how to catch and shoot or fight on the inside and his ring is so big you can do cardio in it

It looks that way. His fights are really low volume, pot shotters who can't handle pressure.

They clearly have talent. But I'm think their talents could probably be used elsewhere with a different trainer.
