  • Shafikov brought it hardcore but Easter fought well and edged it on my card. It was a good fight.

      • Shafikov was sent home with his tail between his legs. 2 of the scores were a little bit wider than they should have been but it was a clear victory for Easter Jr. I think Easter thought too much about getting a knockout giving ammo to those who wanted this to be close for whatever reason.

        • this is why anyone betting on ggg needs to rethink that. easters not even important to the pb and they wold not let him lose that fight. you think golden boy who has 99 percent of their profits tied to canelo is going to let him lose?

So did you have Easter losing the fight?

            • You box early and press the attack late, not the other way around, especially when you're a much taller fighter with much longer reach. Control the range with the jab and movement, when u r on the ropes make sure you're not getting hit with big shots and let the shorter opponent punch themselves out, after 5-6 rounds he'd be so tired and frustrated and he'll be there for the taking.

You don't put yourself at a disadvantage by fighting a shorter guy with shorter arms on the inside that early in a fight where he's still sharper and stronger, on the inside his punches need half the time your punches need to land because his arms are shorter and his head is too low for you to hit it with hooks nd straights so you hve to use the uppercut and leave yourself open, you don't do that early especially against someone who's never been hurt or stopped before, you take your time.

If Easter is able to dominate or even knock Denis out I'll be considerably impressed - the little Bashkir could chew nails.
that's exactly how it went lol

Thanks bud, I ain't seen it yet, but it honestly wasn't a tough call if you've watched em both fight. Shafikovs a relentless lil terrier, but his work is consistent rather than eye-catching which makes it easy to score against him if you choose - Easter is good but not exceptional and his apparent inability to use his length properly was always gonna make this hard work. In Toledo however this was only ever gonna go one way.

Damn man. Was looking forward to this fight more than Manny vs Horn (which barely interests me at all) but Ms Koba come home with the baby just a coupla days ago and I'm so fkn tired I just couldn't stay up for it.
