Kovalev convicingly won 8-9 rounds and dropped Chilemba, who has not been dropped before as a pro.

Since I've joined boxingscene one of the things thats been common here is that people ignore when punchers having glaring weakness, lack of an inside game or they can't cut off the ring, we act like it's impossible for those holes to get exposed down the line. Matthysse was one of them, unfortunately for Kovalev there was a fighter who can operate on the inside to expose his, had it not been for Ward I do wonder how disgusting Kovalev's hype would have been.

It's part of the reason why I was saying Kovalev didn't deserve top 5, coupled with his limited resume.

I mean seriously, Walters has looked better in all his fights and has a better resume than Kovalev did prior to his defeat to Ward, and he wasn't P4P or was outside top 10 for most people.


And because I saw it, I won easy $$$ betting Ward by unanimous decision.

you talking about clinching? thats illegal. thats not inside fighting...unfortunately for kovalev he ran into someone with political power in this sport and thats it. we all saw how he clearly beat ward in the first. that was ridiculous. round 10 to ward? simply impossible but in a close fight....judges suddenly went crazy. second fight comes aroudn and blows that were low in the 2nd round are suddenly overlooked late in a close fight and the ref standing right there says its a tko after 3 clear low blows. did tony weeks suddenly go crazy too?

fanboys will completely ignore all this and keep the ward hype going. its just a coincidence all the mind bogglingly terrible calls went his way? no its not but they got to hype this guy up into something he is not. i wonder how disgusting his hype would be if he could win fair and square and didnt win a ton of his fights with illegal tactics and help? imagine if he beat kessler, bika, kovalev, etc...legit?

no you won money because you understand boxing politics which is smart. its the reason everyone should bet canelo over ggg. is canelo better than ggg? maybe but he doesnt even have to be. also that was not easy money since you must have been sweating after the 12 rounds. you never want to rely on the robbery win but it comes through most of the time

You just hate Ward, which would be fine if you could just admit it, and stop making these and other excuses and trying to use pathetic reasoning as to why kovalev lost, and he DID lose, and he LOST twice and the second time got TKO'd. What political power does Ward have? Jay-z, who is of course the pit of roc-nation (and isn't by any means my favorite person) may be infinitely wealthy, but you are using that as your reasons that Ward won? Yet, you disregard the many articles, analysts, etc out there who called it a 1 point fight and many agree it was simply a close fight where the guy you like didn't get the nod. I'm sorry to be the one to break it to you, but kovalev is just not as good as Ward. Not in any area, and not only that, Ward has been better with each passing fight after his long lay-off. I'm not a Kovalev apologist, had Ward winning the first and think the second was over long before the nut shot, but anybody acting like he's not a top 10er is bat**** nuts. He didn't have holes in his game. He fought Andre Ward. He puts holes in people's games. Nobody else beats the Kovalev that was showed up to those fights.
