Comments Thread For: Arum: Pacquiao-Horn on ESPN is "a Gift" for Boxing Fans

Bob Arum considers airing the Manny Pacquiao-Jeff Horn fight on ESPN a "gift" to boxing fans. Pacquiao's defense of the WBO welterweight title against Horn will be televised live by ESPN on Saturday night from Brisbane, Australia. A crowd of nearly 60,000 is expected to attend their scheduled 12-round fight at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane, Horn's hometown.

How far has Pacquaio's stock as a draw fallen? Is he even a top 10 draw in the sport right now?

Glad to see him on ESPN, but it has to be pretty humiliating for him. I'm sure Arum sees another 25 fights in Pacquaio that he can cash in on, but maybe Manny should have retired already.

Reports are HBO did make an offer for the fight.

You do realize that Lomachenko and Crawford will also be fighting on ESPN, right?

I'm 100% sure HBO offer was less than the ESPN one.

Well yeah, obviously. And it is was a big enough offer for Arum to take Terrence Crawford and Vasyl Lomachenko there also.

It's great a Manny fight is on espn. The only bad thing is it's Horn and there is no PED testing.

I criticize Arum a lot but this is a good look for boxing. Hopefully they bring more competitive matches than PBC did on ESPN.
