This just shows how bad Ward is at capturing the publics & boxing fans imagination. If I was Ward's PR guy I'm telling him to say "yea I wish the ref woulda kept it going so I coulda seen this mofo KO'd or quit on the stool between rounds". I wouldn't have him crying about people trying to take something away from him, I'd have him b^tch about the ref taking something away from him, a dominant & even more conclusive W.
Outside of the ring, Ward obviously tries to keep his side of the fence clean, so to speak.Comment

Yes, the deck was stacked against Kov. The potential future mega money maker for the boxing powers here in the US is Ward, so we all knew that kov was against it.
Just like we know that Wilder would have been against it in Russia. Same garbage, different country.
This was a real fight however. The deck wasn't stacked to where Kov couldn't win. He had his chances, and Ward straight up kicked his a s s!
And why didn't Kov stick it back to Ward, when ward went low? The "krusher" should have fired 2 back a little lower! Kov talked serious trash before the fight, but he didn't walk the walk in the ring.
One of the things Kov is missing, is a little more muscle. He had no core to help absorb those body shots. It's not a body building competition, but he needs more muscle. Maybe he belongs at CW.
He's gonna be the B-side in all his fights. He has a sht p romotor.
I bet he has to go to Canada to fight Adonis. He's too old to take tune-ups. I would like to see Kov. Fire his whole team.
He should fight in NYC. West Coast isn't for Russians...He won't get much of a fair shot. NYC is his best shot in the US.Comment

You'd think that Kovalev fans would be happy with a stoppage like this. That fight goes on any longer and he definitely would've had to take a knee or have been put down. It's no good that Kovalev had this amazing career and the fights he's going to be remembered for are the last two because he was a sore loser. Kovalev lets all of these suits get into his head after the fight and tell him he was robbed, and he hates Ward so much that he goes with it. I felt one of Wards punches was truly low. Kovalev hit Ward with more rabbit punches than there were illegal low blows. Ward is just better. Would love to see Kovalev and Shevenson have a scrap, though. That fight would be bombs away.
Come on now.
Kovalev was going quit before that happened.
Didn't you see him turning his back and flopping?
Weeks robbed us of seeing Sergey Kovalev do a Kell Brook knee flop.
He had 0 left in the tank just like Brook.
Kell can dish it out and take it.....Kovalev can dish it but he ain't taking it.Comment

Although I'm sure Ward believes he's high roading it, but I think he just does the stuff most comfortable to him more than anything else. And thats gaining edges anyway he can.
And fair play to the guy if he just wants to get edges in the ring & take less money for the stuff in the ring. Thats his business. I just see a healthier middle ground then the one he seems to take by not coming from a place of strength vs his need to cast himself as a victim all the time.Comment
