Canelo won't do as well as Jacobs did against GGG in my opinion. I am not someone who thinks Jacobs deserved to win or get a draw with GGG. I think Jacobs made it a close fight but lost by 2 or 3 points. Canelo fights much differently than GGG and he is smarter and can make adjustments better. He would figure Jacobs out and edge him out in a close fight in my opinion. I would also pick GGG to beat Jacobs in a rematch easier than he did the first time. Jacobs is a very good middleweight but I think he has become overrated by some after his fight with GGG. Due to the weigh in being so far in advance Jacobs, who is a very big middleweight, was able to add a huge amount of weight in his fight with GGG. That wouldn't happen if he fought Canelo.

Yes, AND Jacobs blew off the IBF weigh-in, which stipulated a 170lb. limit (i.e., no more than 10 lbs. above the fight's weight limit.)

Point being, Canelo has always been on the advantageous side of weight gamesmanship. Winning the weight game has been an essential part of his career thus far. Put at a disadvantage against a live boxer like Jacobs would likely present a unpleasant challenge for Alvarez.

Interesting fight. Jacobs is quick. He has a lot of snap on his punches. He also throws combos at the right time. Canelo can box but he can also get out boxed especially by someone like Jacobs. I would give it to Jacobs on points or a late stoppage.

I think Daniel Jacobs would beat Canelo Alvarez by a bigger margin and more convincingly than Erislandy Lara did.

                      More often than not:

Heavier + skilled boxer (Daniel Jacobs) > Lighter + skilled boxer (Erislandy Lara).

Thus, if Canelo Alvarez struggled as much as he did against Erislandy Lara and arguably lost, then it's arguable that Canelo would struggle even more against Daniel Jacobs and would lose by an even bigger margin.

In addition, Jacobs has a much better knockout record than Lara. Thus, Canelo would have an even harder time to mount his offense against Jacobs.
