Manny Pacquiao gets warm welcome from Aussies

BRISBANE, Australia — Who says this is an exclusive Jeff Horn territory?
Manny Pacquiao got a bit surprised on Sunday after people at church service — mostly Australians — prayed for his victory when he defends his world welterweight title against Horn a week from now at the Suncorp Stadium.
The 38-year-old ring legend didn't train less than 24 hours since arriving in the capital state of Queensland. Instead, he and his family attended service at the Worship Center, some 25 minutes from where he is staying at the Sofitel hotel.
To his amazement, Pacquiao and his entourage were warmly welcomed by the people and later on, prayed by them to win his July 2 fight against the same man considered as a local hero here.
"Masaya dahil sa mainit na pagsalubong sa akin ng mga tao dito," said a smiling Pacquiao, who was mobbed by members of the Australian media just when he was leaving the church.
He went back straight to the hotel and opted to spent the rest of the day relaxing.
"Pahinga lang ako," he said before excusing himself and have lunch at his luxurious suite.
The reigning WBO champ will be sparring one last timeon Monday as training camp finally winds down on the week of the biggest fight in Australian boxing history.
