To those who think I'm trolling, I'm
Not. I also have fought and fully understand the differences between MMA and boxing and that macgregor would beat floyd in MMA.
But my point is one of chin and resilience. Recently and tragically, Tim Hague died after just 2 rounds of boxing with a guy who only took up boxing recently and had 7 fights. TH being a high standard MMA fighter. That tragedy was nothing to do with the fact he was in a new discipline imo - it came down to the simple fact that boxers can take a better beating than MMA fighters. MMA fighters, when they're taking real punches (not those little strokes they call punches in MMA) they can't handle it. They can only function in a sport where they are allowed to rely on disbalancing opponents and strangling them when they're on top of them. They are not tough fighters.
So now imagine this happened with CM? A guy who's basically the GOAT in MMA? Or so the public believe anyway. I'm not saying he's going to die like TH, but if he gets TKO'd in a couple of rounds how is that not embarrassing and a total exposure of how weak MMA fighters actually are? I've never liked ufc cos to me it's always just been glorified olympic wrestling. It's not for tough guys
Oh AND FOR THAT TO HAPPEN at the hands of one of boxings weaker punchers? Sure, you say a TKO in couple rounds between FM and CM is unlikely and you are not wrong. No doubt it's not the most likely scenario. But if that did happen, then am I really wrong to say it's embarrassing? In my head it is and that's not trolling.
