BRISBANE, Australia - Manny Pacquiao finally arrived here late Saturday night, beaming with confidence against local boxing hero Jeff Horn as he defends his World Boxing Organization (WBO) welterweight title next week.
The 38-year-old Filipino boxing legend came on board a chartered AirAsia flight from General Santos City accompanied by wife Jinkee and family, his training team led by Freddie Roach, and an entourage numbering 143 in all.
Pacquiao spent the six-hour travel all the way here by playing chess on board against some of his friends.
The eight-time world division champion takes a rest on Sunday, before sparring for the last time on Monday.
The 12-round match against the 29-year-old Horn is set Sunday next week at the Suncorp Stadium.
