  • do illegal shots have to be taken into context?

If illegal shots are preceded by a decent punch earlier in the round, or if youve got a hunch that a stoppage would happen later on regardless, is it okay if the fighter finishes the fight with a series of illegal shots e.g low blows?

Or should illegal shots be illegal in all circumstances and points deducted for their use? What do you guys think?
If future fights end with shots that arent legal within the queensbury rules, is this now allowed, or was the ward kovalev fight just a one off where the rules can be bent just this once...

Where do you draw the line? For example would it be okay to finish a fight via an elbow or headbutt if you thought the momentum in the fight had changed? Or is it just punching a boxer in the testicles that is acceptable in these circumstances?

Low blows or any fouls for that matter shouldn't be ignored. Some people say Ward would have won anyway. This is just speculation how can we know for sure.

Just look at the AJ - Klitschko fight there was a moment in the fight where AJ looked like he was gassing, had the ref stopped it prematurely we wouldn't have had that amazing 11th round.

      Absolutely.

Even illegal tactics like hugging, excessive clinching have to be taken into context. If not then John Ruiz should be in the HOF for his win and draw with Holyfield. Why is he not in the HOF?

      Because of his style.

If illegal lowblows are not taken into context then Golota should also be in the HOF for his dominating performances against Bowe before the lowblow. Bowe was on his way out anyway.

Now we have Andre Ward who combines the worst attributes of both fighters and he's P4P #1? Get the feck outta here

Golota was dominating Bowe in both fights and legit knocked him down.

The same dark faced individuals wouldn't argue that point for Golota right? HEY BOWE WAS GOING OUT ANYWAY! GOLOTA WON THOSE FIGHTS!

        Where you at?

I guess all guys here should know the nasty feeling that shoots up the stomach that even the smallest tap on the genitals can do. Let's say you take a shot to the genitals once, a discomforting feeling starts in the stomach. A few rounds later you take another shot. The pain becomes much stronger, and flexing abs, thinking of defence, the whole state of mind is totally different now. Then a round or two later you take another couple shots to the genitals. Forget about thinking to fight, that pain in the stomach is just so nasty. So when I see posters here dismiss it as if it's nothing, give yourself a light tap on the tip of your nuts.

Absolutely illegal shots have to be taken into context. You cannot turn a blind eye to low blows. Winning is winning though for some and it doesn't matter if the win comes by cheating (low blows) to them.

Lets have all fighters finish hurt opponents with low blows

Then see how the sport becomes a total farce

This sport has no room for repetitive rabbit punches and blatant headlocks

Ward slips kovas jab and puts his head under kovas armpit...thats why headlocks occur

And count the amount of rabbit punches in second fight and i bet they landed similar amount if not ward landing more
