This is the essence of Walk Around Weight. For instance, look at Saunders when he walks around with long layoffs. There's literally video of him saying that he's walking around like a Cruiser, but when he preps up he can hit 160 no problem.
Therefore, look at what Gennady normally looks like when he is not fighting 3 times a year. He says ''he's not a big guy'' but he only references a month before weigh in because he's always active ready for a bout, meaning he's always in shape, but he doesn't realize he's contradicting himself saying ''he's not a big Middleweight.'' He looks like he's 185 pounds here... Alvarez looks like he's 180 and now at a 160....
I actually agree, he was looking a little pudgy earlier too, in post #11 - either his suit jacket was too small twice, or he's carrying a little extra weight. He was looking a little double chinned in the photo presser last month too.
Guess fighting 2x a year instead of 3/4 does that to you. It's very disappointing though - this is the biggest fight of his life, if he's out of shape it's completely unprofessional.
My guess is that he did get hurt in the Jacobs fight and decided to take it easy on his body for a few months before jumping back in. He should start camp in a couple of weeks and should tighten it up quickly.
