How I long for the 15 round fights. They could at least make it like 14 rounds for the big championship fights. Sometimes 12 rounds aren't enough, when you know a couple of extra rounds could make it more decisive, as in first Kovalev-Ward fight, and the first two Pacquaio-Marquez bouts.

It's very telling that the consensus amongst fighters is that Kovalev was done and Ward was likely going to finish him.

The folks complaining about the stoppage were going to complain about something no matter what. Even if Kovalev just came out and said, Ward was the better man in the fight, they would just applaud Kovalev for being classy and launch the same complaints.
