Comments Thread For: Skoglund, Nielsen Brothers Could Be in Line For WBSS Tourney

While former world champion Mikkel Kessler made it clear yesterday that he would not be participating in the World Boxing Super Series tournament despite being given a wild card, there will be Scandinavian participation - according to what promoter and Comosa Chief Boxing Officer, Kalle Sauerland, told Danish paper Ekstrabladet. One should also be aware of that Sauerlands TV partner in Scandinavia MTG (owner of Viasat) is one of the investors in this tournament.

Skoglund and Nielsen are more the level of guys I expected when they announced the tourney. Got a feeling the 168 group will pale in comparison to the 200 lb one

        $50 million dollar prize.

George Groves must be looking forward to getting the bulk of that. Insane.

I think all the other big names are seeing sky box office PPVs.

Surely Ramirez will be in it?

Calum Smith should pull out and be in this. As should Anthony Dirrell or is that the plan?

Yeah, so far the announced cruiserweight lineup of the tournament is stomping the crap out of the super middleweight lineup.

Smith wants in, think Dirrells unsure, theyre trying to get the fight made as part of the tournament. But Smiths said the belt is more important to him if Dirrell dont want to enter

Yea the fact Groves is the only guy in & we are a couple weeks from the bracket show says a lot.

Free money for Groves looks like as we speak. Hopefully it'll become more interesting before July 8(?).

Definitely not loving the chance & talk of Sauerland guys being oversaturated in this tournament. Kinda takes away from the series if there are more than 2 or 3 Sauerland guys total in both tournaments. And it'll start to look like a Sauerland is trying to get their own guys paid vs trying to make a great tournament like that 200lb bracket probably already is & could even end up being better if Usyk &/or Glow get in.
