There's an interesting tendency in boxing

If A class fighter lose a significant fight after long win streak against another fighter with a win streak, most likely he's going to lose his next fight too

Kovalev-Ward is not the only example of this rule

Cotto lost to Mayweather and looked terrible in his next fight against Trout

Brook lost to Golovkin, and got destroyed by Spence after

Pacquiao lost his fight with Bradley with a controversial decision, and then Marquez dropped him

    What else?

Klitschko-Fury and then Joshua loss, one of the most recent examples

After a long win streak, Roy Jones lost Tarver fight and then his next fight with Glen Johnson

That rule even works for some B class fighters as well - Algieri lost to Khan and Pac two times in a row

Trout lost to Canelo and Lara

    And the list goes on

You might ask "But what about Canelo? He got schooled by Mayweather but destroyed Angulo in his next bout?"

But before Canelo fight, Angulo lost to Lara and therefore he broke the rule, because he wasn't coming off a win streak

And yeah, there's few exceptions out here

Not saying that rule is an important factor, just an interesting tendency in boxing world
