With a little bit of research one can find out that Ward has some dangerous people promoting him which is not unusual to boxing. But the more I rewatch the Kov-Ward II fight I cant understand why Referee Weeks and experienced ref stopped it like that. He let Ward go down in the first fight and gave him the opportunity to fight back to a win. He by all means should have at least gave Kovalev a count. It's odd to say the least and Weeks who has officiated many big fights before I don't think was influenced by money. It's worth some looking into to find out the activities of Weeks days before and after the fight. Weeks was more than likely made an offer he couldn't refuse.
Was Weeks threatened?

Kovalev continued to display horrible body language, he didn't do himself any favors, I don't know why Week's stoppage was all that surprising. Don't get me wrong, I thought it was a little early as well but Kovalev was done, and constantly looking for Weeks to help him out didn't help him.Last edited by Doctor_Tenma; 06-22-2017, 09:36 PM.Comment
