  • ESPN Pound for Pound Rankings: Ward is the new No. 1

    Congratulations Ward!

    The most important and respected P4P list, with a panel of 11 of the most respected boxing writers and analysts giving their votes on a 10 point scoring system.

    http://www.espn.com/boxing/story/_/i...takes-top-spot

    P4P Number 1 Votes

    Ward = 6
    Golovkin = 3
    Lomachenko = 1
    Alvarez = 1
    Kovalev = 0

    This thread was inspired by the now classic Jubei thread:
    https://www.boxingscene.com/forums/s...d.php?t=740761

    EDIT:
    To be clear, I am just making fun of Jubei and the other people that pumped up ESPN's ranking of GGG as meaningful.

    I still don't actually give a **** what ESPN has to say

      P4p lists by definition are pretty biased against heavyweights which makes them pretty much redundant in my eyes

        Of course. The only list that matters...

          Lol @ the "panel of experts", with guys putting Canelo above Ward and whoever Pilatti is, they have Chocolatito, Thurman, and Crawford above Ward with Dre in 6th place. Wonder what his username is here. AK? Jubei? Maxi? Freedom?

          Anyhow, as Max said after the fight, you simply can't deny the guy at this point. To do so is to destroy your own credibility.

                    Ward deserves it, but the rest of that list is pretty terrible.
