Nobody was beat down - just premature stoppage! Nobody took any kind of brain damage! Ward landed only one clean shot for the whole fight and didn't even floor Kovalev! Hopkins caught Kov and buckled his legs too (in the 12-th round)...The truth is Ward was never able to land it again. Instead, after trying his best for a minute against hurt opponent and conscious of the fact that he wouldn't finish him with the time left in the round Ward flagrantly went straight to the low knowing that referee would allow him get away with any outrage.Comment

Like he punished S.O.G? LOL!!! even after 20 rounds and 8 months of ****** trash talking from Kova and his team you still don't understand that Kova can't beat a great boxer after 5 or 6 rounds and that your russian badazz is weak physically and mentally when in difficulty, can't take body shots etc
Kova: "Ward is overrated, not a real boxer, he hit like a girl, i will kick his azz, i will end his career" etc
Alright Kova, but Ward is way better and way stronger than you and he kicked your @$$ in front of the word saturday night! and now if you want to fight someone who fight like you, walk the talk for once and take on Beterbiev next!
But we know that Kovaleva is a bully who doesn't take on big punchers as himself...
Viva Russia!!!

I can understand why Kovalev is so stubborn and wouldn't listen to the American trainers. He believes that learning new things in boxing, new tricks and technical aspects is crucial for him. He stated in his interviews many times, that while training in America, he felt bore in the gym, doing the same routine all over again and again, and that he hadn't progressed as a technical boxer comparing to his amateur days. He said that he learns more about boxing during his short visits to Russia, where he meets his old trainer and friends. He learns new tricks and ideas about boxing from them. Probably, the best way for him to go around is to hire a Russian trainer (or maybe come to Lomachenko father).Comment

Your right about that, but Kov was the more handicapped fighter it seems after these revelations from his own trainer and Abel Sanchez!
He's got to be one of the most lugheaded and stubborn fighters I ever witnessed!
Sad to fighters not reach their full potential in cases like drugs, violence or if someone kills them but this is much different!
He just stopped listening to his coach after he beat Hopkins and it definitely came back to bite him!
Oh well, Ward is #1 and hopefully he gets the Stevenson fight and SuperChicken don't run away!Comment

Most thought Kovalev was ready to call it a night when sitting on the ropes in pain breathing heavily and obviously in pain. Andre Ward seems like the superior boxer to Kovalev. Maybe Weeks should have let the fight continue on but it's over now. In America the American fighter deserved the win. Weeks helped Ward out as one colored brother to another. All Kovalev can do now is complain and cry after two fights and possibly two bad decisions. But America is for Americans not Russians.Nobody was beat down - just premature stoppage! Nobody took any kind of brain damage! Ward landed only one clean shot for the whole fight and didn't even floor Kovalev! You see....this is my over riding memory. As someone who peeps Ward for having the smarts to always do whats neccsary. But he was down on everyones card until the low blows took over.
Granted he staggered Kov with that big right. But I founs this even more controversial than the first fight. I think Tony Weeks had an absolute nightmare if honest.Comment

Oh yeah Kov is stubborn if he trained under Abel he would could've taken like 15 low blows in a row not just 7 Kovs downfall...thanks Abel!Comment
