Anyway, GGG is bigger, longer reach, hits harder and has more power, I don't see why he can't physically dominate Canelo. The Mexican does have a terrific chin though so the KO will be hard to come by.
Some punches have no answer no matter who is on the end of them. Canelo's punch that took out Khan would have taken out or at least floored:
    all welterweights
    most LMWs
    and some MWs.

If GGG gets hit by one of them he will prob be on th efloor gulping for oxygen too - but >> Canelo had no fear of Khan's light punches so he could plant his feet, not sure that he will feel comfortable doing that against Golovkin.

But again, having seen Ward hurt Kovalov ... there is a 1st time for everything

I hear some terrible things on this site

having good footwork is different than cutting off the ring..... which you obviously need good footwork to achieve

I remember being told when I was a kid.....

if you have average footwork, you will be an average boxer
if you have good footwork, you will be a good boxer
if you have very good footwork, you will be a very good boxer
if you have great footwork, you will be a great boxer

it obviously takes more than just footwork, but it emphasizes the importance to kids

      Canelo..... is a superb boxer/fighter

cutting off the ring is a skill/tactic that you develop, along with many others, depending on your style..... Canelo is a boxer-puncher/counter-puncher..... Golovkin is a boxer-puncher/pressure fighter/stalker, depending on the caliber of his opponent

      GREAT style matchup

And when they engage they get knocked down and a bloody mouth like Trout. Dude KNEW he was losing and Didnt want to engage at all. He was content not getting bambi-legged again. Reason why we call him No Heart Trout.

He needed a hail Mary to win and yet he was content to run on 4th and long every time. 99% of EVERY boxer out there WISH they knew where they stood. The open scoring killed that fight. Could you imagine someone like GGG, Joshua, Canelo, Ward Knowing they were losing and just standing their looking ******??? Either Trout gave up or he has a TERRIBLE corner who kept telling him BAD advice.

this is what u refer I wrote earlier, due to the idiots all running around with misconceptions about footwork.

Footwork is not black & white how peeps around here make it seem. If a fighter has so called lead feet like canelo people act like it means he sucks or is a terrible boxer or worse than so & so because of it,thats all rediculous.

Canelo actually has developed great footwork & movement for his style, hes never going to have lara type footwork, BECAUSE he should never want to. Footwork can be a waste of energy to fighters like Canelo/Spence/Tank Davis, hes a counter power puncher, they sit on their shots to hurt u & are willing to take some to give some.

Fighters like Jacobs/wade/etc. try to use more footwork because they either have glass chin or are weaker punchers. It amazes me that people actually BELIEVE certain fighters like tank/nelo/Spence dont have so called great footwork/fast feet etc. & that its due to them being unable to develop it.

That's imbecilic, their footwork is by design, they are best suited to that style BECAUSE their monsters with killer bodywork,& have a granite chin. It would waste unnecessary energy & weaken their punches if they did that & the result is know nothings will claim their footwork sucks, just like they claim gigi has great footwork, despite his deficiency going backwards or fighting himself out of combos.

People forget that at elite level a fighter is like an f1 racecar,if he keeps his speed too fast hell get in front but hell gas out, thats why in f1 they calculate fuel loads, well in Boxing the fighter needs to have every move down to a science. A fighter needs to be able to go 12 rds so if your a power puncher w granite chin its moronic to waste your tank on meaningless footwork. Footwork is only useful dependent on circumstances, theres no point to using it for no reason if its just gonna tire u.Cris algieri has better footwork than any mw,yet would u call him eliter than canelo? Hell no.

go watch the fight again.... Canelo landed numerous clean power shots on Cotto and didn't even drop him once!

cotto was on defense most of the fight, i personally expected a different match, more action, but it turned out as a chess match cuz cotto was more defensive than he normally fights...
and by the way, i never said it was a one sided beatdown, cotto played safe and made it to the final bell no shame on that...

read again, i didnt say it was a one sided fight, but cotto was defensive most of the fight, he won 4 rounds but it was mostly out of his jab, not for being agresive or something, lara won more rounds than cotto and was even more defensive...
