Honestly, anyone who thinks this was an early stoppage needs to learn better judgement. I'm glad none of these people are actual referees, we'd definitely have a lot more casualties within a boxing ring.

Well said. Kovalev was defenseless and never raised his guard above his waist after getting stunned.

That's been my argument all along...fools get caught up on the fact that the fight was stopped on body shots, all the while ignoring the punches Kovalev took after he took that big right from ward. One fool even said Kovalev wasn't even hurt...lol

Week's job is to protect fighters from serious injury, and that's what he did. Kovalev was not capable of defending himself.

Even though his own cornerman agreed with the stoppage, and said he could've gotten hurt, people will continue to argue to the contrary.

I said the same thing, Kovalev was going to lose the fight anyways, Weeks actually did him a favor and extended his career.

Kov's fans fail to understand his stamina was completely GONE. Ward was nailing him with a ton of shots. Kov was completely unable to hold onto Ward, there was NO stopping Ward's attack. He was unable to defend himself, unable to generate any offense.

It was barely the 8th round with 40 secs to go, Ward would've mauled him the rest of the match.

                I agree.

I said after the fight that Weeks saved Kovalev. He saved his reputation too, because there'll always be people saying he got "robbed by the Americans", when if Weeks didn't stop the fight, we would've seen Krusher laid out for real
