I think weeks saw kov fake a low blow once where the shot was legal but borderline, had proceeded to treat him like boy who cried wolf. The stoppage was still bs though.
but a nothing fight in hooker v perez, was?

I could be wrong but I am pretty sure Weeks warned Ward about low blows In the second round.

You mean kinda like the way a Golovkin win over Jacobs had more financial significance than the other way around.

Explain the financial benefit of having Ward win this fight.

The problem with your theory is I think that you aren't considering the chance of a fake fight being rumbled. I don't think you can fake these things and guarantee that it'll look realistic enough to be passed off as real. And the downside of being caught is that would put people off who watch the sport (as you say) because they believe its real. I mean people (including you) still talk about Liston and Ali 50 years later so, why wouldn't they talk about a modern fight that looks fake?

Surely you have to accept that in a capitalist sport, the risk of this is too high to be ignored?

I've been saying for a while that this fight was a little weird. It seemed too fabricated while it was being stopped. Kovalev didn't get paid **** officially because he probably got paid under the table. Ward's team starts switching their entire stance to knocking out Kovalev in the week leading up to the fight.

There is a group of posters that will believe the most convoluted conspiracy theories rather than admit the guy they like lost because he wasn't as good as the guy he fought.
