Kovalev didn't protest the stoppage. He goes to his corner and nobody in his corner is protesting the stoppage. They all jumped in the ring and started taking off his gloves like business as usual. Nobody is talking to Weeks. Nobody is motioning low blow. They'd accepted defeat (aside from Kovalev cursing out Ward as he approached him to show respect). He even watches the replay and doesn't react.
But when everything has settled and his team has a chance to come up with their story suddenly they're talking about low blows. And during the first part of the interview Kovalev doesn't mention low blows. What Max asks Kellerman if the body shots hurt him in the last round and you can hear Kovalev's translator say "second round" as Kovalev begins to talk and then Kovalev says something about low blows.
This is the supposed low blow in the second round Kovalev was talking about.
Then when Max is showing the replay of the end of the fight you can hear Kovalev's translator say "illegal" as the tape is playing. He's not translating because Max was finished talking and there was silence at this point. But you can hear him say "illegal" and Kovalev says low blow
Maybe that Russian dude on here g27 can tell us what's going on
