How would Andre Ward do against these fighters @ 175?

Now that he's legitimately proven his critics wrong and defeated arguably the best (and most feared) 175 lb fighter right now how well do you think he would do against these past HOF/ATG fighters?

    Ezzard Charles
    Harold Johnson
    Archie Moore
    Bob Foster
    Michael Spinks
    Dwight Muhammad Qawi
    Matthew Saad Muhammad
    Roy Jones jr
    Bernard Hopkins
    Thomas Hearns

Only ones he beats is Hearns and possibly Hopkins in what would be the ugliest foul-filled fight of all time. Hearns only because he wasn't at his best at LHW.

He would do very well & beat those guys but I don't know about Roy & Bernard. Those are the dream match ups. Ward is on that level.

The rest of that list were ATGs who were the best of the best at LHW. Beating Kovalev (clean or dirty) doesn't qualify.

I think he would have a chance to beat Hopkins and Hearns because they weren't natural light heavyweights. They were middleweights. He might beat Saad because he wasn't that skillful. I think everybody else on your list would beat him.

Ward's resume is stacking up. How stacked were those ATG's resume? The best match ups are Ward vs. Jones Jr. & Hopkins.

Great question, made me look up Harold Johnson; man did this dude fight some greats. Ward would lose to all but Hearns(power/chin issues at 175), Saad Muhammad(lost to all top flight and many not), not sure about Johnson. He would have paid dearly if he had fouled Moore, Charles or Qawi. Qawi was a bad, bad man. RJJ would have played Captain Hook. Spinks is similar but wins due to reach. As someone else said Hopkins would have drove Wards balls up his throat. As much talent as he has, Ward doesn't have real power at 175 other than Kovalez he has no real KO's at LHW, excuse me TKO Paul Smith. Ward has a real reach problem at 175, 71" even RJJ has more reach. Even Michael Moore would have gave him problems at 175 78" reach. If you don't have reach at 175 you have to have real power. Ward is a IBHOF lock and at 168 a GOAT. Ward probably doesn't have much competition at LHW or even Cruiser today but your list is too much and too great at 175.

Thomas Hearns shouldnt be on your list man.

Either way, Ward is competitive with all of those guys. Im not sure I would outright favor him against any of them though.

You know what... Id favor him over Hops at LHW because Hops only got there towards the end of his 'prime', Ward would be able to tire him out IMHO.
