I don't know what's expensive for fights. Never been to a live fight before. I had some opportunities, but backed out of them. For some reason, I like to sit in the comfort of my own home and fix my drink, food and enjoy the fight on tv. I guess I like the commentary for the fights rather than sitting around people that i don't know who are drunk, talking and screaming way too much and standing up in my way. I will attend a fight one day because it's on my bucket list, but it'll be more on the level of a Devon Alexander type of main event. Tickets for something like that wouldn't be too expensive. I'm the same way with other sporting events too. The Pistons and Lions are my hometown teams, but I rather watch the games on tv. It seems like I miss a lot of the action when I'm there in person, whether I have noosebleeds, (especially in a suite) or if I'm near the floor. For those of you who been to a fight in person, is it better in person than on tv? I would imagine that if I went in person, I would have to still go home and watch it on tv.

It's an experience that you should do at least once. I've been to a few cards in the DC area and a couple in Vegas and one in NY. Sometimes even going to the city where the fight is gives an experience in itself (May-Canelo and May-Pac).

Just depends on what the main event is and if a hometown guy is involved or a guy that brings in a lot of fans from another country. I just feel that if the main event is good enough, I'll try to go.

Broner-Garcia is a fight that I have an interest in attending that is driving distance for me and I like the Barclays Center for boxing

My point is that nobody anticipated Mayweather putting on a dominant performance. That's why people pay for those fights. On paper they seem like good fights but Mayweather is the best Fighter of our generation and he completely dominated both fighters. But nobody thought Mayweather would make it seem so easy.
But we all know the fight between Mayweather and Connor is a complete joke. Not even on paper does it look compelling.
But im not bitter at all. At the end people choose what they wanna spend their money on.
But you said Oscar is ripping people off with the tix prices but in reality the only person ripping people off is Mayweather with that joke of a fight.

I didn't go to live fights until Antonio DeMarco fought Reyes Sanchez back in February of 2011. There just weren't any big fights in my area (until Crawford got on HBO's radar). Frankly, it would definitely depend on the arena. Omaha's Century Link Center is small enough that the upper bowl for $27/ticket is still relatively close to the ring, so you get a good view and the live atmosphere. In the larger arenas, I can't imagine that you'd be that close to the ring and then you're dealing with whether or not the prices are worth it when you could be at home. So yeah, I'd definitely choose a smaller profile fight at a medium-sized arena and go from there.
